Financial Analyst/Accountant

CIRSA has an opening for a Financial Analyst/Accountant. This is a work-from-home position for which the successful candidate will need to reside in the state of Colorado, as occasional meetings at the Denver office will be required.

Under the direction of the Controller, the Financial Analyst/Accountant is responsible for processing bi-monthly payroll, recording checks received, processing collections, providing backup for essential financial operations, preparing financial and claims reports, and performing other accounting and financial analysis duties as assigned. The Financial Analyst/Accountant position requires someone who possesses strong Excel skills, is detail-oriented, highly organized, and is able to work with senior staff.

Position Hiring Range:

$60,000 – $90,000 DOQ

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions, reimbursements, and other sensitive information.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
  • Reviews and monitors timekeeping for FLSA compliance.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Reviews and approves payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Researches, analyzes, calculates, and compiles financial data and prepares reports for business decision-making.
  • Downloads and indexes lockbox and office deposits, enters data into ERP system, reconciles A/R accounts, and performs collections duties.
  • Prepares deductible analysis and claims trend reports; compiles and compares financial data from both claims system and accounting system.
  • Assists and serves as a backup with routine aspects of cash management, such as monitoring the funding of bank accounts, proposing the transfer of funds for investment, and analyzing earnings.
  • Tracks, records, and reconciles financial transactions to ensure consistency and compliance with fiscal rules such as capital assets.
  • Maintains vendor records, files 1099s, and ensures compliance with applicable tax reporting requirements.
  • Creates reports for historical records, audits, required filings, and the evaluation of financial processes and transactions.
  • Indexes and maintains finance-related documents, including reports, members, and permanent files, within the records management system in accordance with required document retention.
  • Assists and serves as a backup with routine financial transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Assists with the annual renewal process, including financial analysis for various aspects of the quoting process and entering data into the claims system in preparation for final invoicing.
  • Assists with the annual audit, including preparing audit materials and assisting auditors in the review of financial operations.
  • May be assigned to special projects such as creating and/or updating procedure documentation, assisting in the design and implementation of new systems, inventory of fixed assets, and other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to CIRSA:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and one to four years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
