Doing Due Process Right – Practical Tips for Municipal Leaders

We are excited to announce this regional training event designed for elected and appointed municipal officials and staff. CIRSA General Counsel Sam Light will be presenting on the applicable topic, “Doing Due Process Right—Practical Tips for Municipal Leaders.”

In his presentation, Sam will be covering the critical importance of Due Process in municipal decision-making, explain how concepts of fundamental fairness have a direct impact on whether your entity succeeds (or fails) in meeting its obligations under the due process clause, and offer practical tips for successful (and defensible) due process hearings.

You’ll want to attend whether you are an elected official, planning commissioner, manager, clerk, or other official who makes “quasi-judicial decisions”—or just interested in your municipality’s responsibility for “doing due process.”

Schedule:

  • 6 p.m. dinner
  • 6:30 p.m. presentation begins
  • 7:30 p.m. presentation concludes and open for Q&A
